Become a member of CGLF
H.E. Chokling Rinpoche and Phakchok Rinpoche are extending an invitation to you to become a member of the Chokgyur Lingpa Foundation.
In 2009, Phakchok Rinpoche thought about ways to bring the sangha closer together and how to give people the opportunity to become a more integral part of the projects that have been started by the Foundation. This work is in its early stages and, at this critical time, needs the help of many people to ensure its completion.
“As part of the Chokgyur Lingpa Foundation family, you make our vision possible! Your compassion and generosity will go a long way and answer many prayers. Please join us in our projects and take part in a meritorious activity.”
- Phakchok Rinpoche, Director of CGLF
This year, Rinpoche wishes to make CGLF membership available to anyone who wants to be a member. This means that there are more options for becoming a member: Patron – $1000 or more; Sponsor – $1 per day or $365; And Benefactor – any amount that is possible for you. Every gift is a meaningful gift and will go a long way to furthering the work of the Foundation. There won't be any difference in terms of how valued you are as a member. In short, this is echoing the original intention of creating a membership program through which the sangha can come together as a whole to support and encourage the work that is being done.
Your contribution will support the following projects:
Vajra Varahi Clinic - gives access to a range of low cost healthcare – Tibetan, Ayurvedic, homoeopathic and Traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture as well as allopathic medicine – to people in Nepal who have little or no health services provider.
Some ongoing needs of the clinic include:
1000 needles for acupuncture costs $20, enough needles to provide 400 treatments and last a practitioner for one month - $200, blankets for four beds - $30, digital thermometers - $5 each, bed sheets for four beds - $10, first aid supplies - bandages, plasters, cotton wool, dressings - $.50 / treatment.
Some special needs for the coming year include: A water filter system - $70; Inverter to convert power from our solar panels into light - $500, an electro-stimulator for the acupuncturists - $400, a battery for the solar panels - $250, and a blood pressure monitor - $200.
Your support will ensure the continued care and health of many people.
Monks' Welfare Programme - The Monk’s Welfare Fund currently helps support 80 monks, who are being trained to be the future pillars upholding the Buddhadharma. The monks live in two monasteries: Vajra Varahi Monastery located in Lalitpur, on the outskirt of the Kathmandu Valley and Riwoche Monastery in Boudhanath, Kathmandu.
Zangdok Palri - In the year 2000, H.E. Chokling Rinpoche had a pure vision to build a Guru Padmasambhava Copper Coloured Mountain shrine, known in Tibetan as Zangdok Palri. Construction of Zangdok Palri has commenced, and is being built with the aspiration to promote world peace. Your support will go directly to construction materials, and statues for the temple.
Rangjung Yeshe Gomde Cooperstown - was founded in 2008 under the leadership of H.E. Chokling Rinpoche, Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche and Phakchok Rinpoche. This center offers weekly meditation classes. Our annual summer program features teachings and meditation.
Although not required for membership, higher-level donations of $10,000 per year, $5,000 per year, and $1,000 per year are gladly accepted and much appreciated.
Please consider becoming a member of the Chokgyur Lingpa Foundation and help make our aspirations a reality. Through unity, harmony, and working together, we can create great strength and accomplishment.
